Deskera launches Cloud Connect program, to invest Rs. 500 crore

Deskera, a cloud-based integrated business management software firm for SMEs, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Government promising a total investment of Rs 500 crore for its Cloud Connect Program.

As part of this initiative, the company will set up a Cloud Center in the state and create more than 1,000 jobs in the next few years. The deal was inked in the presence of Shri Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh, Shri Nara Lokesh, Minister for IT&C, Panchayati Raj, & Rural Development, and Shri Shashank Dixit, CEO, Deskera at The Partnership Summit 2018.

The MoU was a follow-up action to the meeting held between Shri Dixit and Shri Lokesh on Feb 09, 2018. The two leaders had agreed upon setting up a Cloud Center in Vizag.

As per the agreement, both sides recognized the need to promote mutual cooperation to expand bilateral collaborative relationship in industrial development in Andhra Pradesh and supported the signing of MoU.

Expressing his pleasure over the agreement, Shri Dixit said “The Andhra Pradesh Government has created a positive ecosystem for enterprises to invest in the region and it holds the top position in terms of ease of doing business.” He further added, “The state has a skilled workforce of software professionals. We look forward to this association.”

Deskera, a well known name in SEA region, is in the early stages of exploring opportunities for setting up Cloud Center and plans to pursue skill development programs as part of the execution of the project. The company is expanding its footprint into the tier 2 cities in India and is adding people to its skilled team. Deskera is keen on building a robust infrastructure in these local markets.

The company also plans to set-up a bigger fulfilment center for sales and launch its products pan-India. This will enable Deskera to tap opportunities with SMEs who are aiming to go digital and global.

Deskera having multiple offices in USA, Singapore and the SEA region is currently present in five Indian cities and will expand to 20 more over the next few months. The company currently employs 350 people and would be adding another 1000 over the next few months. Deskera is committed to provide world-class technology to the SMEs so they can succeed by running more efficiently. It has been at the forefront of helping SMEs improve their businesses and contribute in transforming local enterprises into global-scale businesses.
