Singapore Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) was established on Jan 2, 2013 to administer and enforce the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). In Aug 2018, it published advisory guidelines on the PDPA for NRIC and other national identification numbers, which came into effect from Sep 1, 2019.

Changes in Deskera HRMS w.e.f. Sep 1, 2019
Deskera HRMS now masks NRIC, FIN and Passport number as per the latest recommendations published by PDPC, wherever it is displayed for non-statutory purposes e.g.

- System reports
- Custom reports
Masked NRIC numbers are shown with visible last three digits and last alphabet.
